Meet Sara & Katie

The women behind Pink Porch.

Pink Porch was created by Sara and Katie from a shared love of gathering women in beautiful, welcoming spaces. What began with one invitation and a mahjong table has grown into a colorful community built around friendship, connection, laughter, and the simple joy of feeling like you belong.

Our Story

Meet the Women Behind Pink Porch

Sara and Katie at a Pink Porch gathering

Pink Porch was created by Sara and Katie from a shared love of gathering women in beautiful, welcoming spaces. What began with one invitation and a mahjong table has grown into a colorful community built around friendship, connection, laughter, and the simple joy of feeling like you belong.

We believe women need spaces that feel easy to say yes to: a good book, a pretty table, a front porch feeling, and people who make you feel at home.

Sara Tapp

I'm a wife, mom of three, former teacher, and the kind of person who has always loved bringing people together.

For years, my days were filled with classrooms, lesson plans, and helping children learn and grow. Today, my life looks a little different, but the heart behind it remains the same. I still love creating experiences that help people feel welcomed, encouraged, and connected.

Like many women, I know how easy it can be to put friendships on the back burner while juggling family, work, and the demands of everyday life. Yet some of my favorite memories have come from gathering around a table with other women— sharing stories, laughing until our sides hurt, and simply enjoying the company of people who understand this season of life.

When I'm not planning Pink Porch events, you'll usually find me reading a good book, chasing after my three children, dreaming up new ideas, or convincing my family to go on another adventure.

I love beautiful details, meaningful conversations, and the kind of gatherings that feel effortless but leave a lasting impression.

My hope is that every Pink Porch event feels welcoming, joyful, and just a little bit special—a place where friendships grow naturally and where everyone feels like they belong.

I'm so glad you're here.

Katie Johnson

A mom, baker, marketer, and firm believer that life is better when it's shared with good company.

Last year, I learned mahjong and quickly discovered that it was about so much more than the game itself. Around the table, friendships formed naturally. Conversations flowed. Strangers became friends.

I love bringing people together and finding reasons to celebrate, whether that's around a mahjong table, at a seasonal gathering, or through my business, Cozy Kitchen NC.

As a baker, I get a front-row seat to life's sweetest moments, from birthdays and baby showers to milestones big and small. Those moments have reinforced something I deeply believe:

Life is richer when it's shared.

As a mom of two young children, I also know how easy it is to spend your days caring for everyone else while putting your own need for connection on the back burner.

My hope is that Pink Porch becomes a place where women feel welcomed, included, and excited to say yes.

Our Why

Because friendship deserves a place to land.

Like many women, we know how easy it is to spend your days caring for everyone else while putting your own need for connection on the back burner.

Pink Porch exists to make gathering feel beautiful, approachable, and worth putting on the calendar. Whether it is a book club night, a Mahjong lesson, a market, or a celebration, our hope is that you feel welcomed, included, and excited to say yes.
